“The Stench of Freedom” gets a double star rating on the 2025 Tangent Recommended Reading List

In super exciting news, my Writers of the Future winning story, “The Stench of Freedom”, was listed in the 2025 Tangent Recommended Reading List! Not only that, but it received a double-star recommendation (second highest) 🤩🤯

The Tangent Recommended Reading List is a prestigious, annual list of stories ranked by the reviewers at Tangent from all of those they have read that year. It includes stories from leading SFF magazines such as Analog and Clarkesworld, as well as various anthologies including Writers of the Future. It is such an honour to feature on the list and I am stunned, to be honest. My story is up there with a number of others that may well win a Nebula or Hugo Award this coming awards season. Needless to say, I am pretty chuffed right now. A really great way to end 2025 and start 2026.
